Early intervention means identifying and providing effective early support to children and young people who are at risk of poor outcomes.
Effective early intervention works to prevent problems occurring, or to tackle them head-on when they do, before problems get worse.
Some of the red flags to look out for:
Physical Delay (Delayed Sitting, walking, holding pencil/crayons, etc.)
Sensory Delay (No eye contact, doesn't respond to name call, doesn’t like to be touched by anyone, hyperactive, doesn’t pay attention to tasks, toe walking, feeding issues, doesn’t copy from blackboard, showing tantrum, biting and scratching self and others, etc.)
Cognitive and Social Skills Delay (Cannot solve puzzle, cannot mingle with peer group, no play skills, doesn’t follow command, no turn taking, no sharing of objects/items/toys, no social communication, etc.)
